Last week I had 2 games…we won 1 and lost 1. We played against Rashad Anderson’s team, and he had 37pts. He was shooting 3’s like he was in a 3pt contest. We lost 104-100…great game though. I had 5pts-7asst-3steals-2rebs.

Haven’t been doing a lot of shopping, Mom’s birthday is coming up so I gotta get her something special…November 29th is her B-day. I’ll probably get her something from Prada and take her out to eat.

Haven’t seen any movies lately, but I do listen to a lot of music right now. What’s in my iPod?…The Game, Joe Budden, Jay-Z, Ryan Leslie, Jadakiss, Freck Billionaire, and Fab. But what I listen to before the game is Freck Billionaire, and Ryan Leslie.

My coach is pretty cool, but he has a crazy side. He always stresses DEFENSE to us, so you know I’m playing a lot of defense this year. He’s real tough on me, but I don’t trip…it’s just getting me ready for the NBA next year. So I thank him for everything he puts me through.

Shoutout to my Music Guy and one of the funniest dudes I know, Black Tray (aka Doin the Bounce). And my reckless crew, Mw1ll, Mal Wall, Deezy, and Nodayzoff.

Yo Brandon are you lifting weights? As much as I love your game I think you’re too skinny right now. Have you seen what happened to Danilo Gallinari, the rookie from the Knicks? He got hit hard in Summer League, and has been out with a bad back since then. Don’t wanna see that happen to you.

  6. Brandon Jennings November 18th, 2008 at 2:33 pm

To my man Nick, answering your question about hittin the weights—

I’m not gonna lie…I haven’t really been in there that much lately. Adjusting to the real season, practicing, and playing games has taken up most of my time. But I feel you on that. I do need to get in there as much as I can. I have taken some hard hits in games already, and all I do is get up and keep goin. And I wear my UA MPZ shirt…it’s got dope padding that protects my ribs when I’m in the lane. I’m also a gym rat. I could be in the gym all day practicing. First one there, last to leave. But I have put on some weight, eating all this pasta and stuff lately. I’ll make you a deal since you cared enough to tell me: every time I get in the weight room, I’ll go hard. Thanks for lookin out for me. Peace NICK.

Yo Matt, man I’m glad your game has improved. Just keep putting in that work every day, man. Also study some of the great players, like Kobe, AI, etc. That’s something I do all the time. Take something from their game and work on it. Get the moves down and then get creative with them.

And, o yeah, I’m gonna do my best to show everybody when I get there that I belong in the League. Keep working on the things you need to work on. And don’t get down if things don’t happen right away, the work that you put in will show one day. PEACE MATT.

What up, B.J. I’ve been paying attention to your career since I first heard your name in SLAM while you were still in high school in Cali before you transferred to Oak Hill. I just wanted to congratulate you on everything and let you know that no matter what a lot critics say, there are a lot of people who admire what the courage it took to take care of your family and go overseas. Your backboard piece in SLAM was dope. I’m a young writer who occassionally has gotten the opportunity to write for Slamonline.com and I’ve written a piece on how your decision will change the decison making process for all blue chip prospects from now on at my personal blog, where-basketball-b-longs.blogspot.com. I know your probably crazy busy right now but if you ever have a chance for a quick interview I’d sincerely appericiate it. You can reach me at my email. Good luck, homie. When are we gonna see that first fly signature UA shoe?

  9. Nick November 19th, 2008 at 2:37 pm

Ha. You are too cool Brandon. I first saw you in that documentary Gunnin For That # 1 Spot last summer. Had no idea who you were before then. Like your handle, court vision, but most of all you seem real mature and professional for your age. When I saw you I was like, damn this kid is gonna make it. He’s got his head on straight. He seems like a business man already.

About the weights thing, look at it like this. What do Chris Paul, Jason Kidd, Deron Williams, Baron Davis, Chauncey Billups all have in common besides being some of the best PGs in the NBA? They’re also some of the STRONGEST. Look at Derrick Rose. Why do you think he went # 1 this year?? His game was good, but he had the BODY of a pro even back in college, so you could just put him in the starting lineup right away. You need that muscle to help you absorb contact when you go to the hole.

Imagine gettin whacked by Shaq or Ben Wallace when you’re takin it strong to the hole. Did you see UCLA play Memphis in the Final Four?? Notice how Derrick Rose ABUSED Darren Collison?? Why?? Cuz he had a BIG strength advantage and he toyed with him all game long. Noticed how he couldn’t do that with Russell Westbrook??

Do you know Anthony Randolph and Brandon Wright from Golden State?? They both got skills but Don Nelson can’t trust them enough to play them cuz they’re too weak. This is goin on Brandon Wright’s SECOND YEAR riding the bench. Not cuz he can’t play but cuz he looks like Snoop Dogg’s stunt double.

Look at what happened to that kid Shaun Livingston from the Clippers. Remember how talented he was and how everyone was hyping him to be the next big thing coming outta high school?? Injuries got the best of him, cuz his body was weak. He always seemed to get hurt. Now he had to sign a contract for the NBA minimum and he’s a 13th man on the Heat roster, and he’s barely hangin on to a pro career.

Go online and check out some videos or pics of Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, or even Dwayne Wade from back in high school. They were just as sknny as you. Then look at their bodies in the pros. That should be your goal. You don’t have to mess with weights too much if you don’t want to. Start doing some pushups, squats, calisthetics, after practice. Or do some core and some Pilates so you can get strong and flsexible.

I’m from NYC, big Knicks fan, and I’m real mad they’re winnin right now cuz I want them to suck so they can get in the lottery and pick you next year. Imagine you playing for Mike D’Antoni in his system?? WHAAAAT?! How do you say Rookie Of The Year in Italian?!

    Mamma Mia!!!

  10. Charles November 21st, 2008 at 11:11 pm

there’s like at least one dude from the US on every italian team you play against…..you hang out with those guys?
