A Bunch of Things…
Wassup Everybody,
I know it’s been a few weeks, I think? I just got back from a road trip where we played against Carife Ferrara. They are also in the Italian League. We ended up losing by 6 points. Things aren’t going great right now for us in the Italian League…we’ve lost 5 in a row. We gotta find a way to turn this thing around and start winning again.
I think we will be fine because we are a mentally tough team and we work really hard. After the game the other night our GM got me kind of fired up as he said some tough things we all deserved to hear. I think that’s what we needed and hopefully it will turn things around for us. A lot of the guys on the team have been sick with the flu and are hurt right now, so we’ve been playing short-handed…only 8 guys in the lineup. Hopefully everybody gets better soon ’cause at the end of the day we need all 12 guys.
Other than that it’s been the same ol same, just working as hard as I can and staying focused. I’m not sure if you guys have seen it yet but I recently got the cover of DIME Magazine’s December Issue. So the next time you go to the newsstand look for it and check it out. My boys say I look like I’m 12 years old in the cover picture, lol. Also, on this cover Dime I am not rockin UA basketball shoes but our New Evade II low top Trainers. You guys will have to wait to see my new UA hoops shoes. I will be rockin a fly pair in my game Thursday night vs. Ricky Rubio. But on a serious note, I really want to thank everyone at DIME for supporting me while I have been so far away from home. You guys have been in my corner since my Fresh/Soph year in HS…that’s love and I appreciate it!
Like I said this Thursday, we play against Ricky Rubio’s squad in the Euro League, Spain. This is gonna be a lot of fun. A lot of people have mentioned this game to me…I’m looking forward to the challenge of playing a tough squad and a high-profile talent like Ricky. Right now we are 1st in the Euro League and Ricky’s team is 3rd. I know they are going to come out hard especially since we are playing in their gym and they are extra hungry for a W. I know if we execute everything our Coaching Staff has been preparing us for we will be okay. We need to stay focused, take care of the ball and execute the game plan.
Finally, I have to give my Mom some love as she made fried chicken the other night…haven’t had that in a long time. I can’t even tell you how much I missed that! I’m starting to appreciate the little things more than ever.
Until next time!
Your Boy,
Brandon

Brandon,
I saw you play last week on NBA TV for the first time. I really like your defense, and I was impressed with what I saw with you in the halfcourt. I wish you would’ve gotten more minutes. I have a feeling with your head coach resigning, and all the injuries, you’re gonna make the most out of any extra minutes you get.
For anyone who wants to see Brandon go head to head vs. Ricky Rubio, tomorrow’s game will be televised this Saturday @ 1pm on NBA TV. DVK Joventut vs. Lottomatica Roma!!
Must See TV!!
Hey Brandon,
My advice for the Rubio game tomorrow, is just relax. Don’t get caught up in tryin to embarrass him. The reason he gets all the hype he does is because he’s got a rep for being wise beyond his years on the court. He knows how to think the game.
Outsmart him. Try and watch some film on him. Study his tendencies.
Lock him up defensively. Go for the right pass, instead of the spectacular one, make him defend you by takin it strong to the hole, and you’ll do fine. Don’t let him off the hook by shooting fadeaway jumpers. Make this kid run around after you. Frustrate him, and you’ll come out on top.
Show him this is OUR game, and not Spain’s.
Whatup Brandon,
Just wanted to say I know how to tough it can be to adjust to being abroad. I used to live in Barcelona. I wasn’t even playing ball and I was tired all the time…
Keep playing, keep writing, I’ll keep reading.
Stay up!
Wayne

Hi Brandon!
I’m a virtus Roma supporter and i was really excited about the team this year.
I think the roster it’s very good and you are a plus.. ebane if you’re very young and you did some mistakes ’cause you lack of experience.
Now that Repesa has gone i hope you all could play a better basketball: you all, expecelly you, ere too nervous.. not relaxed when playing.
Good luck and see you on Sunday against Benetton Treviso: it will be an hard game that Roma has to win if you want to play the italian final 8!!
Hi Brandon!
I’m Edoardo, a virtus roma fan, I’m asking during this period, what’s the problem of the team.
Was Repesa? It is a player? And why Allan Ray is near to be fired?
In my opinion our team can arrive in the Italian League more than now! We’ve got a good roster that can arrive in Top 16 without problems and 2nd in the Italian League. But our big problem, IMHO, is the 3point shooting; we haven’t got a really strong player in that role and this conditions many matches.
Versus Badalona you have played a fairly good matches, but you miss the 3point shooting.
Sorry for my bad english but I’m just a little boy of 16years.
Please reply me

Saw this Ricky Rubio kid play for the first time in the Olympics, and all that training with the bigger and experienced guys has really made this kid something special. I do believe you are an overall better player than he is and you are more athletic in my opinion. Keep up the good work Brandon, you know all the fans be watching. Peace
