Questions For The Fans

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

1. If you’re up on Hip-Hop, I like to listen to a lot of music. Since I’m out here in Rome, I don’t get music like I used to. So I wanna know what’s hot and not. Albums, mixtapes, etc. Let me know what’s up.

2. Who’s gonna win this year’s Slam Dunk Competition?

3. Rappers using Audio Tune…is it played out? Who should use it and who shouldn’t?

4. Who will win the ACC?

5. Who’s your Final 4 in college?

6. If you had to start a team, who would you go with?

7. Who’s the #1 high school basketball player in 09? (I’ll answer that: Jordan Hamilton. Hands Down!)

8. Myspace, Facebook or Blog?

Playing Against NBA Vet Travis Best

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Playing against Travis Best was good for me last week. He’s played in
the league for a long time and had a really solid career. He’s an
experienced PG who knows how to run his team, and he takes the right
shots. Never saw him get mad or frustrated during the game…he just
kept playing. I try to learn something every time I play, especially
when I play against someone I already respect. Holding my own against
someone like Travis gives me even more confidence that I can do well in
the NBA someday. I played strong D on him…he did score a couple
buckets, but someone that good is going to find a way to score no matter
who’s guarding them. We ended up beating them in OT by 3, 93-90. Now
we’re second in our league. No question…it was a big win for us.

Until next time,

Euro League Game vs. Tau (Spain)

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

Roma vs. TAU

Just got done playing against TAU. We lost in OT. Very good game… just not the outcome we wanted. We gave it our all for 45mins. The other team simply made plays down the stretch. We’re going to take 2nd in our group in the Euro League, so we move on to the next round. We can take some positives away from the game: we know we have what it takes to compete against every team…we just have to execute for the whole game. Sounds simple, but it takes hard work.

This Sunday we have a really important game against Air Avellino. They’re in our league. I’m sure you guys have heard of Travis Best…he’s the PG for their team. I’m looking forward to going up against him. I’ve watched him play a few times…he’s a real smart PG, played a ton of years in the League with some great teams. I mean, he’s a lefty so you know, lefties are special. hahahaha!!!!

Also I’ve been reading this book called MIND GYM—Kevin Love said something about it in an interview, so I picked it up. It’s very good. Here’s a quote from the book that I’ve been thinkin about…

“Stay Motivated During Difficult Times. Avoid Fatal Distractions:

Achieving inner excellence is a process. Building mental muscle, like building physical muscle, requires time and effort. The more you work on the inside, the more it will show on the outside.”

What’s Been Up…

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Whassup Everybody,

First—Happy New Year to All!

What’s been up with me?…Nothing really. On New Year’s, I spent most of
the time in the gym working on my shot and playing my brother one on
one. He’s getting a lot better. And he’s strong too for his age.

There are no dayz off for me now. Just been working really hard on
improving the weaker parts of my game, been in the weight room a lot.

Tomorrow we have a Euro League game against TAU. If we win, we’ll be
first in our group. It should be a real good game…they’re a really
good team. But if we play well as a team, we will be ok.

Been watching a lot of college ball lately. I was shocked when UNC
lost…I never thought they would lose. They are a great TEAM. Blake
Griffin is really doing his thing, he probably will get Player of the
Year. James Harden is really doing well too, I used to play AAU ball
with him when we were 10 and 11…he’s come a long way. Hard work does
pay off. And Curry?…He can just flat out score.

That’s it for now y’all.

B
