New SLAM Magazine Cover “Future Shock”

I just received the new issue of SLAM in the mail yesterday, all the way in Rome (Italy) and wow did the crew at SLAM rock it (My 1st Cover of SLAM).  This cover with Ricky Rubio & I looks really hot. It feels like yesterday when Lang (Exec SLAM Editor) made the journey over with K Stone for the Cover Shoot & Game. At the Cover shoot in some Barcelona (Spain) Studio was the 1st time I met Ricky, he’s a great kid as I got to know him a bit during the photo shoot (Dec 10, 2008) the night before we were supposed to play each other in a Euro League game.  What was so cool was how Ricky brought his mom and dad to the shoot (great people & very friendly), we had a few hours to get to know each other. As everyone knows family is a really important force in my life as well, Ricky has some great parents and I was happy to have met them.  I have so much love for the folks at SLAM, they have always been straight up cutting edge and looking out, once again thanks for the love and I will see you guys back in NY soon after my season.

One more thing, I hope Ricky comes out so we can start this journey together…

Oh ya, I can’t forget my girl the great Kelly Kline (www.kellyklinephotography.com) who is the best photog in the industry, thanks for making the trip over and making it all happen. My Mom say’s what’s up…

Here is a VIDEO LINK that the SLAM crew put together from their trip over, enjoy and I will speak with you soon. Also, to checkout the cover go to www.slamonline.com

Brandon, I’m so glad to see we got you a cover in SLAM finally. The first time I saw you play (not counting our ball is life mixes on you) was when you owned Duncanville your Junior year, 45 points, 6 assists, 4 boards, 5 steals a win in overtime and the MVP of the tournament (It was at SMU that you did your thing). I filmed that game and got blown away. Duncanville had the number 1 ranked squad in the country, you had a young team. They had a 52 game win streak, you didn’t give a damn. You did your thing. You won the game. I remember to this DAY you screaming up at the crowd after winning “FIFTY TWO IS OVER, FIFTY TWO IS OVER.” Going from that, to now and being proud to say I work for SLAM and you get your cover? It makes me so proud to see it. Everybody loves the cover Brandon, keep it up, you’re holdin’ it down.

Brandon I heard Knicks’ GM Donnie Walsh is only gonna be in Italy till Sunday. Try and get your agent or your mom to talk to him, maybe slip him a DVD or just make contact with him and tell him you’d be PERFECT on the Knicks, and Mike D’Antoni’s system is a perfect compliment to your game.. I hear he’s scouting the Euroleague Playoffs this weekend.

Don’t sleep!! Make it happen!! Make sure your mom or your agent gets a seat next to him at the game!!

Hey man, I just found your blog and I wanted to stop in, say somthin.

When i heard about you skipping college to play in europe I thought it was a cool way to beat the system. You’re makin money, you’re getting better experience than if you were playing college ball and you’re getting to see parts of the world that I know I never will.

Now to see that you’ve done well for yourself and your family is pretty cool man. Best of luck to you, and here in Indiana, well we wouldn’t mind hearing David Stern call your name soon.

    Peace.

What’s up Brandon. I’m glad you made the decision to come to the NBA. Most people here have forgot about you, seeing as how the US is extremely narrow minded when it comes to news/media/sports. Nobody knows what’s going on with you over there and most people have forgot about your game. You and Ricky as top draft picks reminds me of the CP3/Deron draft. You have potential for greatness, I hope my GS Warriors picks you up! Good luck with everything else in life!

Hopefully you guys come out the same time like Magic and Bird except from Europe.
