I’m glad to hear you’re FINALLY working out for the Knicks. I’m scared that Sacramento or Golden State may snatch you up before the Knicks pick at # 8.
Here’s some advice on how to rock that interview tomorrow:
1) Tell Mike D’Antoni that his system is known to bring out the best in every player. Steve Nash, Shawn Marion, Boris Diaw, Amare, Tim Thomas, Nate Robinson, Chris Duhon, Al Harrington, Wilson Chandler, all played the best ball of their career under him.
Tell him you wanna be the best player you can be, and there’s no better coach to help him reach that goal than him.
2) Donnie Walsh is one of the most respected GMs in the NBA. You want to be part of a franchise with strong leadership at the top.
3) The Knicks’ Allan Houston is an assistant to Donnie Walsh, but also works in practice with players and he’s one of the best shooters to ever play. He helped Nate Robinson improve his shot tremendously last year. Tell him that since that’s one of your weaknesses, you can’t think of a better way to improve your shooting than to spend some time with Allan Houston.
4) Wear a suit to your interview! This is a job interview. Donnie Walsh is old school. If you wear a suit you’ll impress the hell outta him.
5) Google Walt “Clyde” Frazier. He’s a Knicks legend, one of the 50 best players to play the game. He was on the Knicks championship team when they won it in the early 70’s. His defense and basketball IQ were off the charts. He works with the Knicks as an announcer, and if you could ask him to be your mentor, and teach you some old school tricks, the way Patrick Ewing did with Dwight Howard, you can be a great player.
He could teach you a lot about defense and thinking the game. Below is his Wikipedia page.
For real, my kids have witnessed the truth in making tough decisions. I’m glad and excited for your achievement. Burnin to see your evolution since you left. You took the mold that is/has been cast for the american youth and shattered it. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU……..
We are starving for some great basketball. I was catching up on Youtube and your highlights are getting me excited. Have fun and we’re looking forward to seeing you out on the floor.
