LAS VEGAS — CES is the world’s gathering place for the latest in cutting edge consumer technology and has been the proving ground for innovators for the past 50 years.

This year at CES, Under Armour continues its pioneering role in performance innovation by launching a new science-backed sleep and recovery system. We worked with professional athletes and researchers and analyzed data from our almost 200 million member digital community to create new products around sleep and recovery — our next frontier in making all athletes better.

The highlights of Under Armour at CES:

THE COMPONENTS OF OUR SLEEP AND RECOVERY SYSTEM

UA Athlete Recovery Sleepwear Powered by TB12

New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady and Under Armour collaborated on the new UA Athlete Recovery Sleepwear (available now) to provide athletes with technology that works while you sleep so you can maximize athletic performance. The pattern lining in each super soft garment is made of bioceramic materials with Far Infrared properties that transfer heat in a way that helps the body recover faster and optimizes sleep. Far Infrared Energy has been shown to reduce inflammation, improve oxygenation of the blood and regulate cell metabolism.

Tom Brady, who typically gets 8–10 hours of shut eye each night, prioritizes his sleep according to several key recommendations. “I firmly believe that sleep and recovery are critical aspects of an effective and holistic training program,” says Tom Brady.

UA Record Mobile App Update: A Sleep Recovery System

The latest in the UA Record app examines your personal sleep patterns and turns data into direction based on insights from Johns Hopkins Medicine research. This puts athletes on a path towards sleep optimization through the following:

  • Tracking: Using UA Band, a phone or supported third party sleep-tracking device, this feature automatically monitors your sleep each night.
  • Analysis: A proprietary 14-day Sleep Score assesses your quality of sleep, and the UA Body Clock helps you establish consistent bed/wake times.
  • Coaching: UA Record offers timely reminders, insights and tips to provide guidance on improving sleep habits to maximize performance.

By using the Athlete Recovery Sleepwear and UA Record together as a system, athletes will be able to accelerate recovery time and gain a deeper understanding of their sleep.

New UA Record Equipped Shoes

The new line of UA Record Equipped running footwear, announced last month, is designed to answer the question: Are you Ready to Run?

The chip inside the shoe syncs to MapMyRun which will update to include the JUMP AROUND, a new proprietary test that measures muscular fatigue and provides immediate guidance on how to alter the intensity of a workout simply through a sequence of jumps. The new line of UA Record Equipped running shoes will be on display at CES and is available pre-order at UA.com
